I had a nice weekend. It's one of those do-nothing-school-or-work-related weekends, one of the very few times while in the middle of the semester. My Saturday started 4:30 early morning getting ready for choir practice at 5:30. After practice was our usual breakfast bonding and chatting with choirmates Nhery, Junie, and Raymond. We always have breakfast together about 3-4 times a week at a carenderia we call "Langob" (as in, cave) and usually at Jollibee (Bulacao) on Sundays (coz Langob is close on Sundays). Because we're always there, the owner of Langob sometimes gives us treats like fried bananas last Saturday (leche flan last December). I went home and back to bed after breakfast coz I didn't have classes. I actually planned on going to school to check quizzes but since there was no pressure I couldn't drag myself out of the house. Instead, I did a marathon of Wolverine and the X-Men series until Sister Mulan texted me if I wanted to go to SM with her at 6pm.

How could I resist Sisterhood's shopping invitation? What I really love about shopping with her is that we are of almost the same size so we go to the same stores, usually the kids section (hehe!). We know each other's tastes in "fashion" and we advise each other on the matter. While waiting for Sisterhood at SM, I decided to check out Booksale. I hate it when I go in this store coz I always end up buying books no matter how broke I am, yet I really can't stop myself from going inside the store whenever I pass by. This time I was able to get hold of a hardbound copy of John Irving's Trying to Save Piggy Sneed for only 45 pesos. After my shopping splurge with Sisterhood (well, it wasn't really much of a splurge, we were "tight-fisted" for that session in fact), we ate at Jonie's Flavored Chicken on a limited budget. We didn't want to go home yet but the mall was already closing so we have to end our bonding session. Besides, it was already getting late. I love bonding with Sisterhood coz I can tell her a lot and she wouldn't really care, in a good way of course. And to tell a lot is really something for me coz I don't tell other people much. Before going our separate ways for the day, we stopped for our usual (and much needed) caffeine dose at Starbucks. What a way to cease the day---high on caffeine!
On Sunday, I was up early for my church duties even after a very short night sleep. I was hyped the night before due to caffeine that I forced my sister into an almost nonstop talking/chika session. After church I went home and back to bed. It was already high afternoon when I woke up. I had no plans of going anywhere or even washing my clothes. I ate while doing another entry on my scrapbook and listening to my favorite songs. I have recently downloaded some songs from the soundtrack of August Rush and while listening to them I felt the urge to watch the movie again. I love movies with great music (and usually about music)
and August Rush is one of them. One of my favorite songs now is Something Inside sung by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, which I kept playing over and over today and yesterday. I was reading John Irving's Trying to Save Piggy Sneed (which is a memoir, I got the day before at Booksale) while watching my 3rd re-run of August Rush. I have quite recently become a John Irving fan after reading The Cider House Rules (which led to my reading of Son of the Circus). I fell asleep last night still holding the book. I suddenly woke up at almost 1am and realized that I still haven't washed my uniform (for today). I quickly washed my uniform as if I was struck by lightning coz there was no more time to dry them before getting up again for my 7:30am class. Luckily, my mother has taught me well on some techniques on drying clothes in no time so I had a dry uniform this morning.
Overall, I had a great relaxing weekend. I hope this happens more often.
