My Jolly Tales

Since Jollibee is celebrating 30 langhap-sarap years, I'll be sharing my jolly tales to everyone. This was inspired by Nes-li.

* My first taste of Jobee (for short) was when I was 7 years old. It was peach-mango pie given by my cousin's boyfriend (then).

* During my first sem in CIT as MCS student (while I was also a college instructor at VSU), I always ate at Jobee Ormoc before I board the ferry to Cebu. Sometimes, when there's no more time to eat coz the ferry is about to leave, I take it out and eat in the ferry's canteen.

* When I was staying in a boarding house together with CIT students, my boardmates and I would sometimes sneak out of the boarding house in the middle of the night (12mn-3am) and look for a 24-hr Jobee branch (usually Mango or Fuente) just to satisfy our cravings for chickenjoy, crispy fries and sundae, as well as some adventure. Since our landlord was staying in the floor below us, we'd have to tiptoe so as not to wake him up (and get scolded). This usually happens in the middle of our all-night chika sessions.

* When Sister Mulan tells me that she's hungry, this means "let's go to the nearest Jollibee and have 39-ers meal". Because we are often broke, we only order one of those 39-ers meal and have water (that's free) instead of a softdrink or juice.

* I have delivery numbers of Jobee branches near CIT (punta, guadalupe, south, etc.) saved on my phone because when we are too busy to go out and grab a meal, especially if we still have classes til 9pm, my colleagues and I just order through the phone and have it delivered right inside the faculty room. I am usually the one to place the order and receive the food so I quickly became the expert in this delivery stuff like what to ask, what to check and whatnot. I now know what my colleagues' favorite Jobee treats. I also saved all the receipts since last sem.

* In many Jobee branches here in Cebu, there is a big chance that there is a crew who has been (or is currently) my student. This is why I usually get an extra smile when I enter and someone says "Hello, Ma'am. Welcome to Jollibee".

So there's my share of Jolly tales. I'm sure there's a lot more.

Happy 30th Birthday, Jollibee!
