One of my favorite hobbies is eating. I eat ALL THE TIME. When I wanna be productive with whatever I'm doing I have to have food beside me. Thoughts seem to flow easier when I'm munching something. I can't even count how many times I eat in a day. I don't usually eat much at a time, but I eat frequently---small but frequent feeding. On a regular day, for example, I usually start with what Bisayans call
painit, which is basically kinda pre-breakfast "snack" consisting of bread and coffee. Then after about 30 minutes I have breakfast of rice and any forms of protein, again with coffee. At around 10am I go hungry again and grab a snack usually of chips and juice or coffee. Then I have lunch at 12, which is usually a heavy complete meal (rice, meat or fish and veggie with juice). Then at 3pm I grab another
merienda usually of siopao or meatroll or corn or cookies always with drink (coffee or iced tea). At 6-7pm I have supper, which is usually lighter than my lunch but often with rice. At around 9pm I have coffee and something sweet before I go to bed. There are days when I eat more frequently than that. And, yes, I am addicted to coffee. I have it whenever I can. Haha. Good thing I never get fat.
Why I love food, you ask? Because I build and maintain and enhance relationships over food.
One of my favorites: Tropicoolers and Garlic Stix from Greenwich---what I and Sister Mulan usually have during our bonding sessions. We absolutely love these!
Roasted chicken from Litang's: I've had better tasting roasted chicken before but what made this special was sharing this with 2 great ladies I go to church with after one of the most important church activities of the year and having girl talk (yes, girl talk over roasted chicken).
Early morning buddies: (from left) Me, Raymond, Jonie, Nhery---people I share my painit or breakfast with. We usually go for food after our very early morning choir practice and have a lot of chats and laughs.
Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins: Shared this with my sister, El, over one of our late night coffee-and-something-sweet munching sessions. We took the pic before it completely disappears.
