You know the feeling when you're on a long boring uneventful trip, say on a ferry, just when you're sick of seeing nothing but water all around then suddenly up ahead you see what seems to be the makings of an island, your destination? At last, you're getting off that seemingly endless trip! You boil of excitement, you can't wait to be nearer the port that you immediately gather your things and you freshen up and you realize that suddenly there's so much to do...
...that's kind of where I am right now.
Although I don't consider my new career to be my destination (as something that is ultimate career-wise), not yet anyway. It's just the port where my ferry docks, a transition from water to land, from academe to industry. Once on land, there may be more journeys I have to take, more adventures and misadventures I will find...I see lots of possibilities on land...and that makes me nervous with excitement. But before I reach the land, I have so much to do: stuffs to gather, grades to compute, papers to work on, etc...but that's ok because I can see the port now...
...today is my last day on my teacher's uniform.
My ferry finally docks.
