For the first and last time...

...I saw our beloved Ka Erdy but sadly, it was not until he was lying in his casket after God put him to rest.

To express our condolences my family and I went to Manila on a not-so-planned-express trip. My parents flew from Tacloban, while El and I flew from Cebu. Ev met us all at NAIA. We all have never seen the departed Executive Minister of the church when he was still alive so we wanted to see him for this one time (even if we know that he wouldn't know we were there). We also hoped to be able to attend a worship service at the Central Temple. Unfortunately, it was alreadly closed when we got there because it was already full. We waited in queue for 8 long hours of standing but it was all worth it. This was the only time I'd be able to see Ka Erdy, the man who has strenghthen my faith; my example of true servanthood. Being there I was able to prove to myself that it is possible to love someone and feel loved by someone whom you haven't met in person.

I wish, like him, that in the end I'd be able to say: "I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith." (2 Tim 4:7)

We took the opportunity to go around the Iglesia Ni Cristo complex because this may not happen for another decade. (Sorry we can't take pictures inside the buildings though.)

I'm finally here for the first time.

It was also a time to bond with my family.
