Three

Here's a poem that was supposedly written by a UP student which so cute and I know most students (in the Philippines) can relate to. Well, I know most of my students can definitely relate to this. This is a kind of tribute to the hard-earned "three", as a 3.0 is the passing grading for most colleges and universities in the country. Most grading systems have 1.0 as highest and 5.0 as failed but in the school were I teach, it's the other way around (5.0 is highest, 1.0 is failed) but the passing is the same (3.0). Ok, here it is:

I think that I shall never see
A grade as lovely as a three
A three that's earned with
Blood and sweat
When failing is a serious threat
A three I've asked from
God all day.
Knowing praying is the only way
Exams are taken by fools
Like me
But only God can give a three.
