One of the traits I hate, though sometimes love, about me is that I'm very impulsive. I almost always never plan my moves, I act on impulse. This impulsiveness goes in almost every aspect: decision-making (big or small), budgetting (or not!), shopping, getting something to eat, deciding on what to wear, what degree to pursue...everything! This often gets me into trouble but they don't usually end up as disasters coz I'm quick in math. Few seconds before doing what my impulse tells me, I have already calculated [added, subtracted, multipled, divided] the possible consequences...yes, it takes only a few seconds for me [justification?!]. Plus, I am phlegmatic, I can easily adjust to things that come my way, good or bad, resulting from any not-so-well-planned moves I make.
Here are some examples:
* I decided that I'm gonna major in Statistics in college only when I filled-out the college admission form. While others have thought of what course to take for at least a year, during their senior year in high school, I thought of it for about 2 minutes. Actually, when it was basically implied that I can only go to the nearest college, I thought I was gonna major in Food Science (lots of math in it). However, when I came to school to enroll I realized that the course is offered at the Department of Chemisty and Food Science, which means it has lots of chemistry subjects. I hate Chemistry so I looked into the school brochure for another course that has lots of math (as math is the only subject I'm quite good at). And I found Statistics, so right then and there I decided to major in Statistics.
* The other day I went to the mall to look for nice polo shirts for someone. That was a planned trip to the mall coz it's quite far from where I work and where I live, so it takes time to get there and back again. Well, I ended up buying 2 books and no polo shirts at all.

* I had my hair colored burgundy and got a new hair cut last December just out of the blue. I was so tired after class that I just wanted something "new" so I went straight to the parlor still wearing my school uniform.
I know it's not good. People always to tell you to plan things carefully and never hurry and I do admit that they are usually right as things usually turn out better when they are carefully planned. But where's the thrill in that?!
